love mental health

We are two people with a passion that believe a better life is possible for millions of people affected by mental illness.

What we do

We want to raise money for the Birmingham and Solihull NHS Trust and Rethink Mental Illness. Our aim is to raise £3,500 by selling The Kisii Soapstone that are handmade in Kenya helping the local community.

Buy a stone heart

The Kisii Soapstone is mined in the south-western part of Kenya, not far from Lake Victoria. First the raw stone is mined from the quarry and cut into manageable blocks. Then it is grated and rasped to the final shape by the artisans in the workshop. Before dyeing and incising begins each piece is sanded until it meets all our demands on quality. Consequently dyeing is done and patterns are incised with a very sharp knife. Finally the product is polished with natural wax to create these beautifully finished products.

Our target is £3,500

Rethink Mental Illness is a charity that believes a better life is possible for millions of people affected by mental illness. Our website and helplines give information and advice. We carry out research to make sure we really deliver results for people, young or old. Our services, support groups, and members cover every county in England, giving us local insight and helping us spread innovations nationally. All our work is governed by people who have lived through mental illness.

Our Trust operates from over 50 sites throughout the Birmingham and Solihull areas to provide a wide range of inpatient, community and specialist mental health services for service users of all ages. From young people aged over 16, right through to providing mental health care and treatment for older adults. The trust has funded allotment projects, sensory therapy equipment, music projects, drama therapy and much more. To find out more
